These two classic country comedy shows from the 60s are accurate time pieces of a simpler time. But they are also funny and extremely charming slices of Americana. Since MPI has released the only authorized “Petticoat” and “Hillbillies” DVDs to date (peruse their “Ultimate Collections” for both shows), these are the only DVDs to feature the astounding theme songs that introduce each series over the opening credits. Also, Linda Kaye Henning, daughter of creator-producer Paul Henning and co-star of “Petticoat” (as daughter Betty Jo Bradley) provides informative introductions to all 3 shows on this DVD plus does a sweet Christmas greeting with co-star Frank Cady (known as Hooterville General Store owner Sam Drucker) . There’s also some unusual cast commercials from both series, including a sizable Jethro recitation of “The Night Before Christmas” for Kellogg’s Corn Flakes. This DVD is a actual treat and a tall prefer. (P.S. There’s also another bonus - a Christmas episode from Henning’s earlier series from the tedious 50’s — “The Bob Cummings Show/Love That Bob” with Dwayne Hickman and Rosemary DeCamp.

Love this Bag
This bag was a perfect upgrade for me. I can fit my DSLR, three moderately sized lenses and my two flash units as well as all my little accessories and do-dads.
Everything is easily accessible by the full top zip and it’s easy to carry either with the smaller or larger straps which both fit on my shoulder. The longer strap is one of the most durable and comfortable I’ve ever seen.
I also love how it looks more like a travel case than a camera bag - it will sure make me feel more comfortable traveling with my equipment knowing that I can fit all my valuables in this carry on size.
Perfect, just what I needed
I’m always saying I wish I’d had my camera, so I wanted to find a bag that I could carry everywhere. By accident I ran across the Jill.e bags and wished I had found it before I bought a sling bag. I went ahead and splurged for this one and I’m so glad I did. It hold my camera and equipment as well as items I would normally carry in my purse. The leather is good quality and I have plenty of storage. It’s easy to get into but everything is secure. No more do I say I wish I had my camera with me.
beautifully designed
I love this bag. I needed some inspiration to take more photos. I thought that by having a nicer bag, I would take my camera everywhere I went. I get many compliments about my bag from people who do not realize that it is actually a camera bag!
I was a little concerned about the light color, but that is not a problem. It looks so nice with everything and I feel good carrying it! It holds plenty of equipment with room to spare. And that little pouch, what a nice touch.
If you are thinking about it, just do it, your camera deserves a nice home.

This version, with Placido Domingo as Cavarodossi and Robert McCracken as Scarpia, is the best one I’ve ever seen. Domingo is famous in this century for the excellence of his Cavarodossi, and in this video you can plainly inspect why. You’d have to be made of stone not to yowl like a baby after hearing his “E lucevan stelle” in the last act. Hildegard Beherens has the best rendition of “Vissi d’Arte” I’ve heard, better than Callas, than Marton, than Van Ness. Mac’s Scarpia is amazingly evil; in his costume and makeup he looks somewhat like a toad, but his snarl is a handsome, rich baritone- almost too ravishing for this villainous role. All of them together obtain for a perfect casting of this opera, one of Puccini’s best- not a single wasted tag, action, or aria. “Tosca” is a jewel among Puccini’s works- more accessible than “Butterfly” and “Turandot”- a suited work for those unprejudiced starting their enjoyment of this art beget. And this version is a attractive addition to the collection of afficionado and beginner alike.
I have five “Toscas” on video and DVD. This production, done at the Met in NYC, is the best of the lot. I Have seen this same production at the Met and the scenery is astounding. I agree it is Placido Domingo’s best performances on video. Hildegard Behrens plays a very charming and believable Tosco. Her performance in ActII with Cornell MacNiel as Scarpia is particularly involving. But it is MacNeil who steals the expose! He play the share of the villain with such exactness and facial expressions that at times he looks like Dracular! He is also in sterling direct for this performance. This is a “don’t miss” Tosca.

This movie was an estimable account of the reality happening on college campuses and other venues as well. It is a legal view opener that tugs at the heart and made me very concerned about the lack of morality among this generation and the need for more sure role models. I am going to spread the word because everyone needs to scrutinize this movie, especially teens and young adults. There is a large lesson to be learned and I pray that someone will steal mark. Carolyn aka Bunny in Philly
Everyone should leer this movie. Especially if you have young children who are ‘growing-up’ in this crazy world. It was an eye-opener for me, in fact after watching the movie, I had this feeling of worry. Concerned if my nieces and God Children and friend’s kids are actually aware of what is happening out there, unprejudiced by hanging out with your friends. Friends who you plan you knew and trusted. I’m not going to give the anecdote away, objective Capture and Search For this MOVIE…. Rel Dowdell and his team did a expansive job of ‘telling it like it is’ with taste. A very educational film.

It is a bit unfair to compare this joint US/Italian anecdote production from 1960 with the other blockbusters being produced around this time like “Ben Hur”, and “Cleopatra”, however as a smaller scale pains in this genre there is remarkable to like about “Esther and the King”. The tedious 50’s and early 60’s were a assure time for these types of productions when alot of film work was being done in Rome rather than in Hollywood because of the lower costs and tax benefits. While this film is very loosely based on the Old-fashioned Testament book of Esther, it could never be said to adhere to historical fact or chronology and features actors who certainly dont fit the racial groups exhibit in the areas where the sage takes residence. Those things aside I level-headed contemplate it a genuine if not spectacular concern that is sincerely played and is blessed with terrific situation photography courtesy of the legendary Mario Bava, shapely costumes and richly drawn technicolour all wrapped up in terrific cinemascope. Richard Egan, a ancient of 1950’s yarn productions and Joan Collins play the two lead characters in this chronicle and actually acquire an spicy team while never for one moment looking like venerable Persians. Egan in particular at least visually is very miscast but he does smooth manage to add some depth to his character of King Ahasuerus.

Taking space in the fifth Century BC “Esther and the King”, relates the sage of the all conquering King Ahasuerus of Persia who is better known in history as Xerxes, a very distinguished name in Persian history. We recognize the grand Persian Empire at the peak of its all conquering brilliance with as the narration in the prologue informs us, an empire that stretches from India to Ethiopia. King Ahasuerus has unbiased returned from a triumphant campaign in Egypt to regain not all well with how his kingdom and Palace has been hasten in his absense. He finds he has to contend with the devious ambition of his First Minister Haman, (Sergio Fantoni),who in his absence has been taking the law into his enjoy hands dispensing his ruthless manufacture of “justice” without trial. Queen Vashti (Daniela Rocca), has also been busy during his absence conducting a blatant affair with Haman. Only the devotion and wise counsel of his advisor Mordecai (Denis O’Dea), a secret worshiper of Jehovah, can be relied upon in these risky times. Long suspecting Queen Vashti of infidelty, Ahasuerus banishes her from his discover however at the welcome home banquet she appears anyway and disgraces herself in front of the king by performing a seductive dance. Haman decides now that Vashti is of no exercise to his plans for seizing the throne and has her secretly murdered hoping to plot his believe favourite concubine on the throne in her set. However Ahasuerus has other plans and a search is begun for well-behaved candidates for the role of Queen. Meanwhile Mordecai’s neice Esther (Joan Collins), is preparing to marry her sweetheart Simon (Rik Battaglia) who has impartial returned from the Egyptian campaign with Ahasuerus. The king’s men however snatch Esther away unbiased before the wedding and Simon becomes a hunted man when he puts up resistance to the King’s orders. Esther is taken to the Palace where she is tutored by the head Eunuch in the ways of a potential queen. Haman’s plans to have his absorb choice chosen by the king however approach to naught as Esther impresses everyone by her humility. Haman sets out to ruin Esther before the king makes his choice and employes the same hired killer to do away with her like he did Queen Vashti. However a mistake is made and Haman’s candidate is murdered . King Asasuerus is immediately taken by Esther’s beauty and modest bearing and he selects her as his modern Queen. Over time Esther begins to feel right treasure for the king and influences him toward better treatment of the jewish minorities within the borders of the Persian Empire. Zigzag on revenge however Haman becomes a unsafe rival for Esther and after deliberatly setting up Mordecai to appear to be a traitor to the King, Ahasuerus sends him away, sets up a policy of the jews having to abandon their faith or be killed and worse detached removes Esther from his notice. Haman at last makes his fade to accept the throne and attempts to lift the King’s life objective outside the city. Informed by the fugitive Simon about who really tried to ambush him Ahasuerus learns from Haman’s off sider of the genuine person responsible and that Esther and Mordecai are innocent of any evil doing. Arriving encourage in the city unprejudiced in time to finish Haman from hanging Mordecai for supposed treason Haman himself is captured and hung in his status. After returning from his next campaign Ahasuerus realises how he was totally mislead and when he is greeted by a mild devoted Esther he takes her serve into her rightful position as his queen.
“Esther and the King”, makes first and foremost an moving memoir of palace intrigue and if you ignore the shaky history applied here, most notably in Ahasuerus’ plans to snarl the young Alexander of Greece a right lesson despite the fact that Alexander the Spacious wasn’t even born in this period, you are guaranteed savory viewing. Richard Egan does construct an outlandish choice as the King of Persia with his resplendent complexion and shipshape shaven face and a noteworthy better attempt of depicting historically honest Persians was done in another of his efforts “The 300 Spartans” in 1962. Joan Collins despite her bear quoted disapprove of this film wretchedness is refreshingly staunch as the proper hearted Esther and it is spicy to ogle her in a role where she has a sympathetic character for a change. Her scenes especially with Sergio Fantoni’s villianess Haman do bring the film alive and provide it with some sincere spark. Denis O’Dea as the gracious Mordecai also brings a peaceful dignity to the proceedings as the secret jew who has the ear and trust of the King and his speeches about tolerance of minorities and their beliefs now has a curiously unusual ring to it. Also in the brief role of the disgraced frail Queen Vashti Daniela Rocca, a glorious Italian actress also makes the most of her brief scenes as the unfaithful Queen who pays a high stamp for her infidelities. The eye of “Esther and the King”, is what you would query of outmoded of these older chronicle productions. It boasts some very graceful spot photography in the ruins honest outside Rome which stand in for customary Persia and the interior sets are suitably lavish with Ahasuerus’ harem in particular being marvellously opulent and garish. The main palace sets have an entertaining mix of Babylonian and Persian designs that were lifted from mature historical texts by the designers and the radiant colour photography also greatly enhances the examine and feel of “Esther and the King”, making it a pleasant addition to the “epic’ stable of films.

Directed, produced and partly written by Hollywood ragged Raoul Walsh it marked one of the last film efforts by this legendary Hollywood identity before he retired. For a lumber support to mature style movie making on a lavish scale “Esther and the King”, is a proper if not broad example of the new collaboration between Italian and American filmmakers in the early 1960’s. The films underlying message despite its mishandling of historical fact is composed a relevant one however and the earnest performances form this film a agreeable addition to any sage movie lovers collection.
Contentwise, I won’t toss darts OR roses. This is genre stuff. You either like it or you don’t. My beef is with the technical quality. It is imperfect. (1) It is NOT in widescreen (Cinemascope), which it ought to be for a biblical spectacular. There is simply no excuse for cranking out a full-screen treatment in a DVD issued in the year 2000. (2) The so-called “digital remastering” must be kitchen-table grade, because the shapes are fuzzy, colors oversaturated, visuals mushy. This DVD should be withdrawn from the market and a original widescreen version substituted. I rep better quality from my VHS of this movie than the DVD I purchased. Lousy lousy lousy, as I said.

So here it is… more than 30 years since the new theatrical release of Enter the Dragon, Warner Brothers releases the definitive 2 DVD Special Edition. It’s a pretty offering, long overdue, and considering the reasonable effect, really offers a lot of nice extras, though most of them have been available elsewhere and have therefore been seen before (at least by rabid fans like me) .
To commence with, there is of course the movie Enter the Dragon (ETD) - Bruce Lee’s magnum opus that was not released until after his wretched death in 1973, but sealed his immortality. The station is simple enough - Bruce is a unique day Shaolin monk who is somehow enlisted by the British/Hong Kong government to infiltrate the island of Dr. Han (Shieh Kien), a crusty stale renegade Shaolin gone dreadful who holds a yearly martial arts tournament to recruit talent for an international opium and prostitution racket. Roper (John Saxon), or “Loper” as Bruce says his name, is the established Hollywood caucasian star brought in because of reservations about Bruce’s ability to carry the film, while Williams (Jim Kelly) is the token blaxploitation character who, this being the 70’s, is kind of a Shaft/Superfly ass-kicker and, in the spirit of dread movies, is the first to die at the hand of Han - actually, at his artificial, interchangeable, iron, and oftentimes bladed hand. Even Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung, as young Hong Kong stuntment before they became stars in their gain upright, originate deplorable appearances as guys on the receiving demolish of Bruce’s wrath. But the exact point, or value, of this movie is that Bruce Lee shines throughout with his wonderful fight sequences - he once again casts Bob Wall as whipping boy, hitting him with lightning swiftly punches, an insane skip side kick, and a spacious groin shot that detached makes me wince despite hundreds of viewings; he has some improbable weapons sequences with staff, double escrima sticks, and nunchaku; and he more than lives up to his reputation as the “man with three legs” as he demolishes armies of scrawny Asian guys whose gung fu is pitiful in comparison (check out the guy laughing in the background as Bruce connects three successive roundhouse kicks to one sap’s head in the final mob fight) . This was totally innovative and astounding in 1973 as the first ever martial arts movie made in Hollywood and despite all the subsequent copycats and novel day wire-fu flicks, no one has ever matched Bruce’s intensity, charisma, and moves. There are some classic dramatic sequences as well with Bruce speaking English in his possess impart (unlike all of his Hong Kong movies whose English versions are horribly dubbed), such as Bruce teaching a student and rapping him on the head as he expounds some homespun Zen philosophy or Bruce poignantly asking “why doesn’t someone unbiased pull a .45 and resolve it? ” Incidentally, this is the uncut version of the movie with some extra scenes not included in the theatrical release - basically Bruce talking quasi-philosophy (well, actually, it’s someone else dubbing in Bruce’s yelp) with his Shaolin elder that he later recalls in the final fight sequence.
Of course, few people who catch this DVD don’t know all this already, so what’s fresh? Well, there is a commentary track by producers Paul Heller and Fred Weintraub - there’s some though-provoking tidbits, but overall it’s disappointingly uninspired. Then there’s “Blood and Steel: The Making of Enter the Dragon” - a newly produced documentary short that includes some rare and unique footage - a clip from Bruce’s Hong Kong TV appearance in which he breaks 4 dangling boards; an interview with John Saxon, Lalo Schifrin, and the kid who gets smacked on the head by Bruce in the movie (now apparently a renowned Hong Kong director) ; and several minutes of on-location footage shot with Ahna Capri’s handheld Dapper 8 camera that has never been seen before (it’s short of astounding, but it’s novel and therefore gold to diehard fans) . On disc 1 there’s also a soporific Linda Lee (Cadwell) interview, another “making of” featurette with on-location footage shot by the AD, John Little’s short “In His Contain Words” featuring most of the Pierre Burton interview, and some former unlit and white movies (with sound) of Bruce kicking his buddies and hitting his heavy bag in his Los Angeles backyard - though these have all been previously available in one plot or another (including the 25th Anniversary ETD DVD) .
Buy,Download, Or Stream Enter the Dragon! Click Here
Disc 2 includes all of the TV and theatrical trailers for the movie (somewhat repetitive) and two previously released Warner Brothers documentaries - Warrior’s Hasten, which captures and knits together the lost Game of Death footage (GOD) in its available entirety, and Curse of the Dragon, a George Takei (Sulu of Star Flow fame) narrated documentary released around the time of Brandon Lee’s death. These are both decent films, with Warrior’s Sprint a genuine gem with the GOD footage - the definitive device to survey Bruce in widescreen duel nunchakus with Dan Inosanto and try to deconstruct Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s fighting style while sporting the iconic yellow and sad tracksuit revived by Uma Thurman in Raze Bill Vol 1. Curse of the Dragon is interview heavy (Kareem, Taky Kimura, Paul Heller, James Coburn, etc.) but also includes clips from Bruce’s childhood movies, his Green Hornet veil test, his appearance at Ed Parker’s Long Beach Karate touurnament, and some backyard work-out footage with Coburn. But once again, these films have already been released before on their possess, so while decent, they’re less than revelatory.
And so, what we have here is by far the best available version of ETD that now exists and probably ever will, complete with a lot of nice extras, most of which have been available elsewhere. It’s nice to have it all in one package (there’s no apparent need to sell Warrior’s Scamper as a standalone product anymore) at a reasonable ticket. On the other hand, Lee worshippers will no doubt wish that there was more - why not include the complete Green Hornet conceal test, or a Jim Kelly or Jackie Chan interview or commentary track, the complete James Coburn training session footage, all of the Ahna Capri film, more ETD outtakes, or maybe even “Kentucky Fried Movie,” a parody of ETD released many years ago… but what can you do - Bruce died 31 years ago and this is the legacy he left unhurried.
I’ve watched the original HD DVD version of this movie and found the portray quality profitable. The colors are richer and the overall quality appears to gain the recount jump out at times when viewed with the Toshiba A x1 player.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Enter the Dragon! Click Here
I don’t assume it is stunning to give the movie a uncouth rating, as one reviewer did, based on the fact that it is an older movie. Comparing any older movie to unique day production values is misleading and erroneous. Following this comparisson, one would have to give a coarse rating to all movies not done in the past few years.
Enter The Dragon was innovative for its time and utilized production methods that were top quality for its time.

The transfer itself is the citeria that the review should be judged on, which in this case is done quite well.
As for the comparrison to the 60’s James Bond movies, the HD version of You Only Live Twice is advantageous. Yes, the fashion, music, dialogue,… are not unique day; how can a film rush it’s enjoy time period. However, the Connery Bond movie screenplays far outweigh the childish, humorous book portrayals in the curent Bond films with only protracted stunt sequences to amuse a child like mentality.
It is curious that for an “outdated” film like Enter the Dragon, it’s character depictions, set and fight choreography are most often duplicated by today’s style of martial art movies.
Have today’s “highly evolved” movies no unusual ideas other than replacing Lee’s genuine fighting skill, rush, gracefulness and charasmatic conceal presence with acrobatic clowns whose abilities are enhanced with wire work.
The report and sound quality of the HD Enter the Dragon is most striking when viewed on the Toshiba player. It is certainly more engaging then survey a highly detailed HD version of the inane Pitch Gloomy or original Jackie Chan, Jet Li films whose comic position lines and bad acting are to be ingnored impartial to imprint friends coming over to idea how amazingly life like the narrate quality is!
Once the novelty of watching films on the expedient HD DVD passes, classic movies will always stand on their possess merit.

I consider the root controversy about the film has to do with the ask of whether or not it has artistic merit for a viewer without faith. I deem this is a fine demand, as I never really understood the opinion that religion offers, so to direct, an excuse for terrifying artwork. Arguably there is no such excuse, unless one of the points of religious art is to repel people who don’t already allotment the faith.
The film has been labeled violent, which it is; but unfair here has been the mark that it is in some sense unusually violent. It is not. There are hundreds of films that are far more violent. Perhaps this film is even less violent than average. It is perhaps even less violent than the blockbuster version of Gandhi of some years wait on starring Bergen Kingsley, of which the Passion has reminded me somewhat; at any rate they are at least in the same ball park. Rather, the distinctive stamp of the Passion is that it invites us to hold the humanity of the victim of violence in elephantine view; not to distance ourselves by, say, feeling contempt or nettle towards the victim as a bump-off-able poor guy, or seeing the victim as a replaceable curiosity, a dispensable nitwit. In the Gandhi movie, for example, the majority of the acts of violence are against victims who are more or less, cinematically speaking, dispensable nitwits. All we glance Gandhi suffer is being shot at the ruin (and even that, at the beginning also, setting up a flashback) -and a few blows to the head (from which he recovers) .

Yet the character to suffer the violence in this film is not only the main character, it is a character who is anything but a dispensable nitwit. He is unambiguously portrayed as is in the Gospels–a perfect human being-and more: a Divine Person. No doubt faith is beneficial here, but if the viewer can so powerful as entertain the premise as a possibility, then I would say that the movie is as radiant as it is emotionally distinguished. Yet even apart from that premise, the film also powerfully portrays deep treasure and friendships between human beings, which has surely a beauty of its have even under heart wrenching circumstances. Moreover, in what is surely one of, if not the most violent sequences in the film-the scourging (the soldiers carrying out the order, one in particular, wind up going over the top in enthusiasm) -we only sight the victim about half the time; the rest of the time we sight shots of peoples’ faces, notably his friends, mostly of the face of his mother. The film does demonstrate us the anatomical side of the violence enough so that we really understand what is happening-but no more; the point is what it MEANS for it to be happening. In this film suffering is given a human face.
It is quite a novel experience. First, breaking out of the package of being “mere cinema,” there are two points of honesty of the film even apart from any faith claim. (1) by all serious accounts, Jesus of Nazareth was at the least an exceptional human being; yet death by crucifixion was no promenade in the park. (2) by all serious reflections, in one contrivance or another-regardless of how you carve it (whether from the point of concept of any religion or from the point of understanding of atheism) -humanity really hasn’t treated God any better than the main character gets treated in this film. This is a film which portrays God as staying with humanity despite the map it has treated him (and the method human beings have treated each other) . The violence is not for it have sake; collected less is it for the sake either of sadism or of a narrator stepping off the shroud to address the audience with guilt trips (shaming and flagellating the viewer) ; it is for the sake of thoughtfully presenting this possibility in an artistic intention. Second, rather that allowing the audience the site to distance themselves from characters undergoing violence, this film actually does the opposite: it prods the audience to peer NONE of the characters as dispensable nitwits, not even those who are committing the violence. The anti-Semitism charge is simply a non-sequitur. It’s not anti-anybody.
This film firmly establishes the talent of Gibson as a director. He visually portrays what I have described without being artificial or saccharine, making utilize of a much inspect for symbolism and a agreeable sense of timing; he plainly knows how to issue a chronicle blending peek and sound. I will give two examples which I found especially powerful; they are even related. One is where Gibson shifts support and forth from shots of the feet of the roman soldiers standing in pools of his blood as they scourge him, to shots of the feet of the Apostles as he was symbolically washing them. The other is a subtle, nonverbal portrayal of the conversion of a roman soldier which spans in a sense the entire film. This conversion myth is visually framed from the film’s opening scenes when a temple guard has his ear miraculously restored after it is sliced off in a struggle by one of the Apostles. The guard remains for some time on his knees, as if so overcome by the experience he cannot go. The roman solider to be converted is subtly introduced in the next scenes (he is one of the soldiers Mary Magdalene complains to about the arrest), but we spy him from time to time throughout the movie, witnessing and being influenced by various events; in a final scene, blood and water falls upon his eyes, flowing from the side of the deceased victim that he pierces with a lance (though first non-verbally apologizing to the mother; he does it merely to confirm he is slow), and he falls to his knees in a plot which resonates with the action of the temple guard. The temple guard, so to train, had his hearing restored; the roman soldier, so to roar, his contemplate. On the side of deep friendships, famous are the relationships between Jesus, his mother, Mary Magdalene and the youngest Apostle, John. One moment uniting this dimension to the above examples is when John stumbles and falls on his knees before the two Marys (running to them to direct them of Jesus’ arrest) -to be followed by John later seeing Mary’s agony as she watches her son drop to his knees as he carries the nefarious. The kneeling image in general is itself also framed by elegant opening and closing scenes invoking a folding together of earth and sky (the first providing the backdrop of Jesus falling to his knees in his agony in the garden; the second entailing noteworthy from-the-ground-up and from-the-sky-down shots of the moment of his death on the sinister) . Here resonating throughout is the film’s awesome musical bag. I would add that the expend of Aramaic in the film punctuated with subtitles was nothing less than masterful; I am not even aware of the film being in a “foreign language.”
Acting was favorable but special mention needs to go to Maia Morgenstern, who played the mother. In interviews she said she played the character from the point of belief of a mother who loved her son; the result is one of the most enthralling and fair character portrayals in all of cinema.
If you are looking for popcorn-eating entertainment, this is not the film to glance. (Even during gladiatorial times at the Colosseum this movie would have gotten thumbs down.) But if you are in the mood for a thought-provoking treatment of religious themes in a serious, sensitive and artistic procedure, then by all means behold the film.
Although I say it is the “greatest” motion report ever made, it is not the “best” motion describe ever made. Why is it the greatest? Impact. Of the myriad films that I have seen in my life, none has had such a engaging accomplish on me physically, mentally and spiritually. I left the screening with a knot in my chest. What, in fact, was the “impact? “

Certainly the graphic scourging of Jesus Christ, one of the most painful and truly agonizing sequences in film history, has distinguished to do with it. The brutality of the Romans, who were masters of the art of torture, is depicted so realistically (and quite probably toned down in the film) that watching it was overwhelming. This is isn’t meant to be a spoiler: objective save on your seatbelts when you go peer this movie. And you really should leer it if you have a passion for the cinema. It’s an unbelievable fraction of work, and the acting is flawless.
It has one mature scene that should simply be edited out: a brief flashback to effect that Jesus is a carpenter, in which he has unprejudiced finished building a “recent” table, and his mother Mary says that the view or understanding will never win on. That scene is a fraction of creative license that I wouldn’t have taken, although it’s not entirely unforgivable. It’s the film’s only light moment. From there on, accept ready for the most harrowing visual experience in human suffering that has ever been brought to the mask.
[...] Returning to the film, I found the violence extremely disturbing, but not the sort of violence that would breed or serve violence. Let me explain: the violence in this film cannot be compared to the violence in movies like XXX, for example, which is purely for entertainment purposes in that type of pop-corn flick. The violence in The Passion is not intended to entertain. I cannot conceive a child or an adolescent wanting to immitate the violence in this film, as supposedly has been the case in connection with other TV shows and movies in the past. The depiction of violence here shows the extremes of man’s inhumanity to man.

This motion describe is a difficult, painful, incredibly disturbing an enlightening experience. It took me at least a few hours to arrive down from its execute. Yes, it will deeply affect you, especially if you are a Christian as I am. Yet, I cannot classify it as a religious movie. It’s the legend of a man who preached perfect like, forgiveness, and peace, and who fell victim to envy and, consequently, was killed for no other crime than “worship thy neighbor”. That is the human aspect of the movie.
There is also the spiritual: the constant emotional and psychological flogging of the devil, played by a vivid actress whose name escapes me; the reason why Jesus, called Yeshua, allowed himself to be captured, tortured and crucified
when, as the Son of God, he had the power to prevent what he willingly did–to sacrifice his life for the redemption of mankind; and how he stripped the devil of all power by his death on the foul and resurrection. There is remarkable, noteworthy more, but each viewer, based on her or his beliefs, will justify the spiritual impact of the film upon them in their beget arrangement.
For students of film, this is a must. No movie is as noteworthy as this one. Period. It is a perfect example of the “power” of the seventh art, which is the cinema.
If there is a must-see movie thus far this millennium, it is this masterpiece! Parents should consume price to the R rating!!! It’s visually too overwhelming for little children. But for worn adults, highly recommended! But do fasten your seatbelts, as I said. It is one extraordinary scuttle!
